Obersee is the only part of the river which flows through Lake Constance. The cold water of the Rhine flows on the first at the surface of Lake Constance.
Because of cold water from the stream but then falls to the bottom of Lake Constance, and flows from there.
On the other side of the island Meinau the water of the Rhine reaches the surface again.
Impressive is that the water of the Rhine hardly mixed with the salt water of Lake Constance.
The flow of the Rhine is measurable through the whole of Lake Constance through and can thus be clearly understood.
Since the Rhine is a lot of gravel in the Lake Constance is lasting and durable gravel needed with excavators.
